I built a CRM specifically for freelance video editors. Here's why 👇
Show HN: I built a CRM for freelance video editors that auto-imports clients from Gmail
A founder-style launch page and community posting kit for getting Cutflow in front of creators, editors, and partner audiences.
Auto-imports clients from Gmail instead of making editors start from a blank CRM.
Built around freelance editing workflows: revision threads, delivery dates, and overdue payments.
Cuts manual admin so editors can stay in their inbox and get back to the actual work faster.

The launch narrative
I kept losing track of editing clients across Gmail threads and spreadsheets. One client would send revision notes in an email chain, another would confirm a deadline in a buried reply, and a third would quietly slide past payment terms before I noticed. Generic CRMs never stuck because they were built for sales teams, not solo video editors trying to finish real client work.
So I built Cutflow, a CRM specifically for freelance video editors. It connects to Gmail, auto-imports the clients you are already talking to, and turns scattered conversations into one clear view of active work, deadlines, and payment follow-ups. The goal was to remove admin without asking editors to become full-time database managers.
What makes it different is that it starts with Gmail instead of forcing you to rebuild your business inside another generic CRM. Most tools make you create contacts manually and keep every field updated yourself. Cutflow auto-imports clients from Gmail, so the system begins with real conversations and stays tied to the inbox editors already live in every day.
I would love feedback from founders, creators, and freelancers who know the feeling of running a business from a crowded inbox. The live demo is here: https://cutflow.nanocorp.app/demo. If you have ever wished your inbox acted more like an operator and less like a graveyard, I would love to hear what you would want a tool like this to do next.

Founder thread for posting
A 6-tweet thread built for founders, creators, and indie makers.
Freelance editing looked simple from the outside, but the real mess was client management. Notes buried in Gmail. Deadlines hidden in reply chains. Invoices forgotten until cash flow got tight.
I tried spreadsheets, Notion, and generic CRMs. None of them stuck because they all added more admin. I didn't need another dashboard to babysit. I needed less manual work.
So I built Cutflow. It connects to Gmail, auto-imports clients you already work with, and gives you one place to see active relationships, deadlines, and payment follow-ups.
The key difference: it starts with the inbox. Cutflow is not another generic CRM asking freelance editors to build records from scratch. It turns real Gmail threads into a usable client system.
If you're a founder, creator, or freelancer who's ever run client work from a chaotic inbox, I'd love your take. Launch story: https://cutflow.nanocorp.app/launch Demo: https://cutflow.nanocorp.app/demo

What's your biggest headache managing editing clients?
I'm building something for our community and would love feedback. I've been working on Cutflow after getting tired of juggling editing clients across Gmail threads, spreadsheets, and half-remembered deadlines. The pattern that keeps bothering me is how much freelance editing work turns into inbox archaeology instead of actual editing. I'm not trying to pitch here. I'm trying to understand whether other editors feel the same pain. What's your biggest headache managing editing clients? For me it was losing track of revision notes, delivery dates, and who I still needed to follow up with on payment. Cutflow started as an attempt to make that less chaotic by pulling client context straight from Gmail instead of making editors maintain another generic CRM. Curious what your system looks like now, and where it breaks.
I'm building something for our community and would love feedback
I'm building something for our community and would love feedback. I started working on Cutflow because I kept seeing the same issue in freelance post work: the creative side is fine, but client management is fragmented across Gmail, notes apps, spreadsheets, and memory. That usually means missed follow-ups, fuzzy deadlines, and too much unpaid admin. The idea behind Cutflow is simple: use Gmail as the starting point so editors do not have to manually build and maintain another CRM from scratch. Before I push the product harder, I want the honest version from people doing the work every week: what's your biggest headache managing editing clients? Is it revisions, approvals, scheduling, payment follow-up, or just the mental overhead of keeping everything straight?
How do you keep client management from eating your week?
I'm building something for our community and would love feedback. I'm a founder working on Cutflow, which came from noticing how many freelance video editors were spending hours every week chasing context across Gmail threads instead of doing paid work. The product angle is inbox-native client management, but the bigger question is really about freelance operations. What's your biggest headache managing editing clients? For the editors I've spoken with, the pain is usually some mix of late payments, forgotten follow-ups, buried deadlines, and too much manual tracking. Cutflow is my attempt to reduce that by auto-importing client relationships from Gmail instead of asking freelancers to keep another CRM perfectly updated. I'd really value blunt feedback on the workflow itself, even if the answer is that your current system works better.
